Macular Degeneration is an eye disease that can cause blindness and affects 1 in 7 over 60. As part of a university project, they asked for a PR plan that they could implement once they have the funds.
BRIEF
Increase the number of New Zealanders in the 40 plus age group who are aware of Macular Degeneration, are regularly viewing the Amsler grid, and who are getting regular checks from their optometrist.
PLAN
Create a virtual reality experience that shows what it is like to have Macular Degeneration at booths in malls around the country.
Add the Amsler Grid to public places such as bus stops and on social media advertisements.
RESULTS
Interest in sponsorship was shown by Samsung and Sylvia Park mall
The client liked the idea and wants to pressure it when they can get the money and resources to do so
