As part of my post-graduate studies, I was tasked with running a public relations campaign for not-for-profit organisation Head and Neck Cancer Support Network. The campaign was a success as all KPI's were met, and the client gave me a glowing review.

#CANSMILE CAMPAIGN

BRIEF

To raise awareness of the Head and Neck Cancer Support Network (HNCSN) through media exposure, to give a voice to those with head and neck cancer (HNC) and highlight the importance of head and neck cancer and support networks.

KPI'S

  • Partner with three healthcare professionals related to HNC in Auckland by 27th September 2019 to become ambassadors for the network.

  • To be featured on at least one prime breakfast television show on World Smile Day.

  • Increase inquiries of HNCSN by the end of October 2019

RESULTS

  • Three ongoing partnerships with Head and Neck Surgeons

  • Creation of new brochure that has been distributed in hospital across Auckland

  • Client stated there was a massive increase of inquires into the network

  • The AM show agreed to feature a segment on World Smile Day (due to unforeseen circumstances the spokesperson dropped out)

  • Smile ambassadors from the network created and empowered
